Ludhiana, December 21, 2012, Fevicol Champions’ Club (FCC), an initiative from the Pidilite Industries Ltd. celebrated Shram Daan Diwas on December 20, 2012. On the Shram Daan Divas, thousands of carpenters and woodworkers from all over the country came together to donate a day of their labour towards repair work at various NGOs and organisations. This year the focus was on repairing furniture of those institutions that house or administers “Needy Children”.
FCC is an exclusive club for carpenters and wood workers launched in 2002. In 2011, on the eve of its anniversary celebration, FCC members vouched to donate a day of their labour towards the betterment of the underprivileged section of the society at large. Shram Daan Divas is a social welfare outreach initiative from FCC and is conducted with the sole purpose to augment and uplift the socio – economic section of the society by mending or repairing the broken furniture. Last year more than nine thousand carpenters had donated one day of free labour for the cause on Shram Daan Divas. And this year almost 15000 carpenters took part in this event, pan India.
Shram Daan Diwas has covered 306 institutes across India. In Ludhiana, Shram Daan diwas was celebrated at ISLAMIA GIRLS SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL. The activity was also carried out in Mohali, Chandigarh, Panipat, Patiala, Hisar, Sirsa, Rohtak, Jalandhar, Mandi and Rajpura .
Other cities whereby Shram Daan Diwas was celebrated were celebrated were Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Nagpur, Nasik, Ahmedabad, Baroda, Rajkot, Surat, Gandhinagar, Gondal, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Meerut, Roorkee, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Patna, Jaipur just to name a few. In all these cities, local FCC chapters tied up with NGOs, government bodies or public institutions that directly or indirectly, work towards the cause of the “Needy Children”.

This is really a wonderful initiative and their kind gesture has helped us immensely in not only refurbishing our broken piece of furniture but save us from spending money on it too!
The materials and other supplies thus required are given by Fevicol, absolutely free.
