Chandigarh, May 3 : Taking a strong note of anti-party activities, the Bharatiya Janata Party came down heavily on its leaders who were contesting against the party candidates in the Amritsar Municipal Corporation elections. Ten leaders have been shown the door and face expulsion from the party.
Sh. Ashwani Sharma, President, Bharatiya Janata Party, State unit, has expelled ten leaders from the party for contesting as independents against official candidates of BJP in Amritsar Municipal Corporation.
Those who have been expelled from the party include Vipul Mehra of Ward no 8, Nitu Mahajan and Pappu Mahajan of Ward no 9, Arun Puppal of ward no 46, Manju Puppal of Ward no 47, Naresh Kaka of Ward no 49, Manjinder Kaur W/o Surinder of Ward number 54, Gurpreet Singh Mintoo of Ward number 55, Karnail Singh Kalli of Ward number 57 and Ashwani Bawa of Ward number 65.
Ashwani Sharma has further warned any BJP worker campaigning against the party contestants would also be expelled from the party.
