Chandigarh , 4 Apr : Punjab Unaided Technical Institutions Association (PUTIA) today expressed gratitude to the Government of Punjab, Department of Technical Education (DTE) and Punjab Technical University (PTU), Jalandhar for conducting online counseling for admissions to PTU affiliated colleges from this year.
The meeting which was held in Mohali was chaired by Dr. J. S. Dhaliwal, President, PUTIA (SASIITR); Dr. Zora Singh (Desh Bhagat Group); Satnam Singh Sandhu (CEC, Landran Group); Gurvinder Singh Bahra (Rayat & Bahra Group); Manjeet Singh (Doaba Group); Avtar Singh (Sukhmani Group); Sukhdev Singla (Indo Global Group), Anshu Kataria (Aryans Group).
In the meeting, the association demanded that the technical institutions should be given 100% exemption from the Change of Land Use (CLU) charges and External Development Charges (EDC). It was demanded that the CLU and the CTP approvals should be done away with in the upcoming session 2009-10 as it has been in the state till now.
The association further demanded from the state government to continue the bulk supply consumer policy to the unaided self financing technical institutions of the state. It is to be mentioned here that the Punjab State Electricity Board (PSEB) has recently decided to revoke the policy.
