Jalandhar Feb. 24 :The Punjab Sports Department allotted the first installment of Rs. 50,000-00 out of Rs.1,00,000, one time grant to each Panchayat and to Block Rs. 2,50,000 with 75 per cent and 25 per cent Centre and State share basis as per Government of India Department of Sports and Youth Services Scheme of Panchayat Yuva Karida Aur Khel Abhiyan which has an aim to develop play grounds in the villages of the country in the next 10 years.
There is a target to cover 10 cent villages and Blocks in one year. Mr Avinash Chander Paliamentary Secretary Government of Punjab presented the cheques to the concerned Panchayats and Blocks. Sarabjit Singh Makkar M.L.A, Adampur, Pawan Kumar Teenu and A S Pannu IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar were also present on the occasion.
According to Mr Hardev Singh, District Sports Officer, Jalandhar, The remaining installment will be given after consuming and submitting the utilization certificate by the concerned Panchayat or Block.
