Chandigarh, April 01, 2009 : Public Relations Council of India (PRCI), the apex body of Public Relations has decided to confer the “Hall of Fame in PR” Award on Mr Charanjit Singh.
The “Hall of Fame in PR” is the highest award for Public Relations professionals for the extensive and remarkable contributions made by them in their field of work.
Charanjit who is a gold medallist of the then Department of Journalism, Panjab University worked with a Delhi newspaper before moving into Public Relations having worked with Haryana Government and a German manufacturing company. He is also one of the very first to have been accredited by India Foundation for Public Relations Education and Research in 1989 as Public Relations professional.
In 1987, he founded this region’s first Public Relations agency and later in 2004 also co-founded a radio production unit and an academy for radio broadcasting.He has been spearheading the movement to professionalize Public Relations through ethical practices and accreditation of all Public Relations practitioners.
The award will be presented to Mr Singh on April 3, 2009 in Bangalore by Shri Mani Shankar Aiyer, Union Minister of Panchayati Raj, Youth and Sports and Shri BS Yeddyurappa, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka at the function which is a part of PRCI’s global meet.
The Annual National Achievers Awards is the biggest event organized by PRCI to recognize the contributions made by professionals engaged in Communication, Innovation, Media, Cinema, Public Relations, Advertising and Rural Leadership.
