14 Dec :Swami Vivekanand Institute of Engineering & Technology (SVIET) is a ray of hope in the period of recession as it conducted Mega Job Fair ‘Renaissance 2008- Opportunities Redefined’ in association with Freshers Park at its Central Campus, Ramnagar, Banur on December 14, 2008 in which about 55 Technical and Professional Colleges participated for the Joint campus placement and over 2412 Job aspirants of 2008 and 2009 Pass outs from the North region comprising Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pardesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Chandigarh involved themselves to grab the opportunities. Renowned companies like Hero Cycles, Bajaj Capital, Vardhman Group, ABC consultant, Job Seekers.Com, Khanna papers, Spray Engineers Devices Ltd., IMI Soft, Shrishti Construction Ltd., Genpact, Bhagat Group, Bajaj Capital, Job Khazana.com, ACL Group visited the campus of SVIET to recruit candidates for total 460 vacancies listed out.
The company representatives and HR members named Mr. Sudhir, Hero Cycles, Mr. Gaurav Singh, Bajaj Capital, Mr. Ashwani Sharma, IMI Soft, Mr. Aman Sharma, Bhagat Group, Mr. Sukhwinder, ACL Group, Mr. Sunil, Job Khazana.com, Mr. Satpal Ganpact and many more were welcomed by Er. Anurag, HOD (IT), Mr. Vikas Priyadarshi, founder, Freshers Park, Mr. Manish Gaur and Mr. Rajesh Acharyan (Directors, Freshers Park).
The placement process was comprised of Company Presentation, Written Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Total 2412 students appeared to avail the opportunity and sit for written test . Out of 2412 the 840 students were selected in the written test and GD. Finally, 412 Students were short listed, on the basis of personal interview. Some companies offered the package of 1.50 Lacs per annum with accommodation; some offered Rs. 2-00 Lacs as annual package. The annual package varied from company to company. The maximum package offered was Rs.3-00 Lacs.
CEO, SVGOI, Shri Manmohan K. Garg, appreciated the efforts of management for organizing such an event like ‘Mega Job Fair’ during the period of recession. He applauded the budding professionals and appreciated the participating colleges and their training and placement officer to take the initiative. He added that such coordination and participation not only strengthen relationships, but also creates a healthy competition amongst the professionals.
The college wore a festive look. All the necessary arrangements were made for the Students and their guardians to make them comfortable. Different stalls were provided to different companies for their presentation and instruction. The programme was well organized. Basic amenities like drinking water, food stalls, medical assistance, enquiry centers and many more were also provided to the candidates.
The placement programme was coordinated by Er. Anurag Goyal, HOD (IT) and his team, under the experienced supervision and direction of Sh. Deshraj Thakral, Director Secretarial.
