9 June,Kohima: A plantation drive to mark the World Environment Day was observed at Jalukie Town on 5th June 2008, organized by the Peoples’ Education Network (PEN), an active NGO. Students and representatives from schools, college and Churches/Kingdom Stewards in Jalukie valley participated in the programme. Saplings for plantation in respective premises were provided by the Department of Forest.
The Peoples’ Education Network (PEN) has appreciated the volunteers and individuals for their cooperation in making the program a success. Thousands of saplings were planted in and around the Jalukie and in the new MDS Complex.
