7 June,Kohima: State Level Capacity Building on District Health Management was held on 7th June 2008 at Hotel Japfu Kohima with Nagaland Chief Secretary Lalhuma as the chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, the chief guest appreciated the Medical department for organizing such programmes and asked to ensure quality assurances of Health Services and challenged them to take the responsibilities of the Health Services in the state which will lead to change the mindset of the people.
He also enquired about the TB Isolation Ward in Kohima, the conditions and the environment where patients are kept. The Chief Secretary also asked the department to organized more workshops and seminary in future to equip the Doctors and Nurses with more ideas and knowledge.
He quoted “workshop and seminary must result action on ground and implementing answer should be the result of the day.” He asked the Director, Joint Directors and other officials to tour all the districts of the state and to monitor the results of such programmes the department have implemented. He also added that Health and Sanitation should go hand to hand to achieve the desire result.
Commissioner and Secretary Health and Family Welfare, John Medokul brief about intersectional convergence of health plan in all the blocks and district level. He also added about the shortage of funds and manpower of the department.
Power point presentation were presented by Dr. Ruutuou on the topic ‘Issue of Child for District Planning, Facility Survey, Planning and Concept of 24×7 service by Dr. Kikameren, Community Monitoring of Health Programmes by Dr. Vizolie, Malaria/TB Planning and other NHP identified as Priority’ by Dr. Joel Koza, Choice of strategy and Planning Skills by Dr. Imotemsu.
It may be mentioned that Nagaland won the International Award on the work of Communitization Programme for Public Service 2008.
