13 June :A one day Sensitization training on Communitization for Medical Officers, Nurses, pharmacists and members of Village Health Committees, organized by the Health & Family Welfare department was held at Ongpangkong Salang Mokokchung on 13th June 2008 with Additional Director & Convenor, State Communitization Committee, Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland, Dr. Yangerla as the main speaker.
Delivering a speech on the topic of the role & responsibilities of Village Health Committees under Communitization, Dr. Yangerla said that communitization is not a programme but it is a policy of Government where every community must participate in the implementation of different schemes laid down by the government. She also stated that this policy was introduced in 2002 in Nagaland by the state Government with the approval of Government of India. She called upon the Medical Officers, Nurses and Pharmacists and VHC members to successfully implement the communitization policy in the health sector of the district. The training was attended by 13 Doctors, 140 health workers including VHC members, nurses and Pharmacists, Village Council members from communitized health centers in Ongpangkong, Langpangkong and Asetkong ranges.
Earlier on 12th June 2008 at Mangkolemba town hall the same training was conducted wherein she delivered speeches as the main resource speaker on the same topics. The training was attended by Medical Officers and VHC members from 20 Sub Centers in Changkikong, Japukong and Tsurangkong ranges.
