11 Sep : The second review meeting on the implementation and progress of new Pedagogy, Pradham, Work Education, Life-Skill Education and the problem of disabled children’s programme, under the Office of the Deputy Inspector of Schools, Longleng was held on 8th September 2008. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Inspector of Schools Longleng, P. Lipok Jamir and attended by all the TOT, SIS and DMA officials.
As per the inspection and supervision report, the implementation and progress in schools was found not up to the expectation due to engagement of proxy teachers and illiterate persons working as VEC/TEC members and Chairmen.
The Participants deliberated on the issue and resolved to enforce the programme properly as per training provided to the teachers. Accordingly four (4) schools-GPS Tamlu Town A & B, GPS Block Colony and Shayong at Longleng Town were selected and the TOTs of the respective areas including the co-coordinator of the EBRC were asked to start 10 days intensive teaching-learning activities with proper routine.
This would be followed by three days observation period, and if improvement and progress is found, the same system of approach will be implemented in all the schools within Longleng District. The meeting also resolved the following- Any TOT found absent from the assigned duties will be treated as NO WORK NO PAY, to approach the Medical Department to help operate some disabled children with cleft-lip during later part of October 2008.
Subsequently a meeting of all the Teachers in-charge of GPS was held at EBRC Longleng on 9th September 2008 and deliberated on the poor implementation of the programme. It was resolved to work more sincerely with dedication and better coordination between teaching staffs including EBRC staffs.
