Kohima,12 June: Secretary, Nagaland Legislative Assembly & Returning Officer for the biennial elections to the Council of States, N. Benjamin Newmai has notified that the Committee Room in the Assembly Secretariat building, Kohima has been fixed as the polling station for the biennial elections to the Council of States. The poll will be taken between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on 26th June 2008 (Thursday). In a separate order, Additional Secretary, Pusanyü and Deputy Secretary, Robert Khuvung have been appointed to act as Polling Officers for the biennial election.
The Returning Officer has informed that nomination papers may be delivered by a candidate or his proposer to the Returning Officer or to the Assistant Returning Officer between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on any day (other than public holiday) not later than 16th June 2008. Forms of nomination paper may be obtained at the place and time aforesaid. The nomination papers will be taken up for scrutiny at 12 (Noon) on 17th June 2008 at the Office of the Returning Officer. Notice or withdrawal of candidate may be delivered by a candidate or his proposer or his election agent to either the Returning Officer or the Assistant Returning Officer at his office before 3 p.m. on the 19th June 2008.
