3 Oct : The shortest route to fame can be realized through music and if one is dedicated he/she can excel and become famous overnight. This was stated by the Chief Minister of Nagaland during the grand opening of Multi-Brand new music showroom, UNITEX INC, located opposite War Cemetery, Kohima on 2nd October 2008.
Gracing the programme as the chief guest, Rio said that the Government has set up the Music Task Force to promote music as an industry and thereby challenged the youths, singers and musicians to take full advantage of the facilities given by the Govt. and encouraged them to empower themselves in the field of music. Everybody loves music but the natural talent is not enough, said Rio and advised the youths to take up music seriously by undergoing trainings and studies. ‘The Hornbill Rock Contest held at Kohima goes to show that music is growing and if you take music seriously, Nagaland can become the centre of music’, he expressed.
The chief minister congratulated the MD of UNITEX INC Neingulie Nakhro for opening one of the best music show rooms with international names and brands, at our doorstep through his hard labour. Stating that with committment and dedication everything is possible, Rio said, adding that we need to concentrate on one particular area, in order to get recognition, specialisation and professionalism. “Then you don’t have to look for people, but people will look for you”, he maintained.
Neingulie Nakhro while sharing his thoughts said that the multi-branded outlet would provide better access and cater to the diverse needs of the people. ‘Square feet wise, this is the biggest outlet in the north-east and also the only outlet with a Demo Room facility’, he said. Other highlights of the programme included a special number by Diethono and dedicatory prayer was offered by Rev. Rachülie Niu Vihienuo. As part of the inaugural programme, various bands staged live music and enthralled the gathering and well wishers. Parliamentary Secretary, IPR & Economics & Statistics, R. Tohanba, MLA, Dr. Neikiesalie Kire and a host of dignitaries, music lovers and well-wishers attended the function.
