3 Sep :In pursuance of the recommendation of the 12th Finance Commission, the Comptroller & Auditor General of India has proposed for introduction of a statement in the state Finance Accounts on “Data on Committed liabilities in the future”.
Accordingly, Nagaland Government has decided to maintain Committed liability statement on monthly basis in form GFR 6-A and Liability Register in Form GFR 6-A by all Heads of Department in the state with effect from the current financial year (2008-2009). To enable the introduction of the statement, Principal Secretary and Finance Commissions Toshi Aier has instructed all Heads of departments and Drawing & Disbursing officers to maintain the requisite data in the initial Accounts. He also instructed all Heads of department to provide the requisite data to the Accountant General periodically from the Liability Register to enable A.G to introduce the statement on “Data on Committed Liabilities in the future” in the finance of the state.
The format in which the liability statement and the liability register are to be maintained and the procedure; there of, has been circulated to all the Heads of department by the Finance department and they are requested to circulate the same to all the DDOS under them with suitable instructions for effective implementation.
