Kohima,19 June:Nagaland University Ph.D research scholars of Mahatma Gandhi Fellowship visited the Kohima Orphanage Home to share and spread Mahatma Gandhi’s message and human values with the residents on 19th June, 2008.
Zaputuoü Angami of Kohima Orphanage Home said that as many as 20 children from the Home were studying in High School while two are in college, out of the 64 children in the Home. She suggested having coordination meeting among all orphanage homes in Nagaland for better care and management. She also expressed hope the children will find employment in government sector after completing their studies.
The Mahatma Gandhi research fellows during the interaction highlighted to the children the necessity of qualities of humbleness, simplicity, non-violence and love which were shown by Mahatma Gandhi, adding that they should imbibe these good values from the great leader. They encouraged the students that society has great expectations from the children in the Home, and they should not lose hope in life. The Gandhi Fellows also urged the children to work for the people in order to serve humanity. Leaflets of Gandhi’s words and photograph were distributed for to the children to impart the life’s message of Mahatma Gandhi. Some pieces of soaps were also donated to Home as a token of love.
