5 Nov : Police New Reserve Kyong Ekhung, Phesama will be celebrating Tokhu Emong festival at Tennis Court, Police Reserve Kohima on 7th November 2008.
Superintendent of PHQ (MT Branch) who is also Advisor to NRKE, R.T. Ezung will narrate the significance of the Lotha Tokhu Emong on the colourful festival day. Thungdemo Tungoe and L. Nremo Shitiri will give exhortations during the occasion. Yanpamo Lotha, Deacon will dedicate the venue. Marking the occasion of the ‘festival of festivals’ of Kyong, DIG colony and MT colony will present traditional songs to enthrall the gathering. Other highlights of the programme include modern song and dance by Z. John Lotha and Tano Ovung respectively. Chairman of NRKE, L. Zubenthung Ezung who will also chair the function will give the welcome address while vote of thanks will be proposed by Mhathung Ngullie.
Elsewhere, Lotha residents of Agri-Forest and Electrical colony will be celebrating Tokhu Emong 2008 at the official residence compound of Commissioner & Secretary, Transport & Communication, Mhathung Kithan on 7th November 2008.
Retired Director, Health & Family Welfare, Dr. L.M. Murry will speak on the significance of Tokhu Emong while Joint Director Agriculture, E.H. Lotha will exhort the gathering. Other highlights of the programme will include cultural songs by Science College Students, Modern/Oldies song by Robert Khuvung and entertainment items by the youth, Meiwebogic Women Wing, jokes and humours by Rendemo Shitio.
The programme will also feature male voice and female voice and combined jam session. Associate Pastor, KLBC, K. Benri Lotha will say the invocation while the chairman, Chonthungo Kikon will deliver the welcome address. Ezanyimo Yanthan will give the general secretary’s report and proposed vote of thanks followed by election of new office bearers. Journalist, DIPR, Lolano P. Khuvung and Mhabeni S. Kikon will compere the programme.
