Kohima,8 July: In view of the rampant encroachment of land detected in the last twenty years specially in the Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Half Nagarjan, Dimapur, the Dimapur district administration has taken up the issue and after a thorough deliberation the land measuring an area of 123B- 03Ks- 06Ls under Dag No 6 of block 2 was earn marked for the Government Higher Secondary School Dimapur.
Out of this area only 95B-03Ks-12 ½ Ls has been found un-allotted as per revenue record at present. In order to avoid future encroachment the Dimapur district administration has handed over the land patta to the education department in presence of Principal GHSS and DNSU members led by its president on 7th July 2008.
On the remaining encroachment of land belonging to the department, the DC said that the district administration is waiting for the court verdict for further action.
DC also said that a land measuring an area of 00B-02k-09Ls from patta No 74 Dag No 87 block No 2 whereby 2 Nos of Assam type stores belonging to Education Department which has been occupied by Longly Phom has been reverted back to the department after an amicable agreement reached between the department and the occupant. In order to avoid future encroachment the DC also appealed to the education department to erect fencing at the earliest. He also directed DEO Dimapur to take disciplinary action against the 15 (fifteen) staff who have encroached on the department’s land.
DC further thanked the DNSU President and colleagues for rendering its unflinching support to the District administration and to the Education department for solving the encroachment problem.
