16 Sep : The monthly Kohima District Planning & Development Board meeting today finalized the schemes under Local Area Development Fund (LADP) 2008-2009 amounting to Rs. Five crores twenty-five lakhs. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chairman Kohima DPDB & NHHDC, Dr. Neikiesalie Kire at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima. The total LADP amount was broken up into various heads as follows:
1. Schemes for Agriculture, Horticulture, Irrigation, PHE, Education, Fishery, Veterinary, Rural development, Urban development, Industries, Tourism, Housing, General and financial assistence amounting to Rs. 329.42 lakhs.
2. Deductions under State Planning, AIDS, B/Scouts, NREGA amounting to Rs. 85.75 lakhs
3. Common Pool amounting to Rs. 109.83 lakhs.
Speaker, NLA, Kiyanilie who also attended the meeting, said that the Planning Board meeting is a very important platform where Officers from various departments come together to formulate programmes for the betterment of the district. He exhorted the officers to maintain regular attendance in such meetings stating that we can do a lot for the development of Kohima district and also share problems and achievements of various departments.
ADC Planning, Ketoho Luho while discussing on District Indicators, reminded few departments to submit their respective reports as instructed by the Development Commissioner. He also apprised the House on the action calendar for DPDB Kohima on the ‘Year of Capacity Building’ where he proposed that the DPDB may initiate programmes to improve and enhance skills and knowledge for better performance. The proposal also included capacity building for rural villages with inputs from the Department of Vety. & AH, Medical and School Education. The Board further constituted a Core Committee on ‘Year of Capacity Building’ with the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kohima as the Convener, ADC Planning, Project Director (DRDA), District Education Officer (DEO), Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and District Public Relations Officer (DPRO) Kohima as the members.
Other agenda included deliberations on the membership of DPDB and streamlining the attendance register, recognition of Faith Theological Seminary, cancellation of work order for unclaimed LADP schemes and forwarding of proposal of the TM Government High School, Kohima by the DEO, Kohima. Advisor, IT&TE, Er. Vikho-o Yhoshü also attended the meeting.
