3 Sep :An inter school literary competition was held at Government Higher Secondary School, Jalukie on 2nd September 2008 with DIS Peren, Apeuna Iheilung as the chief guest. The competition was organized by the Jalukie Valley School Association and Peoples’ Education Network (PEN) which included extempore speech, essay and drawing respectively.
The chief guest in his address appreciated the organizers for organizing such program and encouraged the students to participate in such activities to gain experience and not to matter whether one wins or lose. A man who works hard always achieves and he himself is the architect of his own fate, she added. She also said that “when a student gets a prize, the teacher gets the honour”. Later she gave away the prizes and certificates to the winners of the competition.
The function was chaired by Secretary JVSA, Narola Imchen, invocation prayer was invoked by Pastor ABC Jalukie, Imti Longchar, welcome address was delivered by President JVSA, John Mathew while Chairman PEN, Namheu Khate exhorted the students. Vote of thanks was pronounced by Namnabi Hegui (PEN) and a special song was presented by the students of Baptist High School, Jalukie.
All together 26 Schools participated and more then hundred students took part in the competition. The winners of Inter-School Literary Competition are as follows:
