2 Dec : Launching of Hornbill Music Festival 2008 programme organized by Music Task Force Youth Resources & Sports Nagaland was held on 1st December 2008 at Kohima local ground (Khuochiezhie) with Home Minister, Nagaland, Imkong L. Imchen as the chief guest.
Addressing the gathering the chief guest said that it is through peaceful atmosphere that the Hornbill Festival, which is the most important festival of the Nagas is going on successfully. He added that peace should prevail in Nagaland because it is the basic fundamental factor for any growth and economic development. He quoted that music is a language that has no barrier and hence joins hands to foster the spirit of unity and brotherhood among all.
Earlier the chief guest declared Hornbill Music Festival 2008 open. The programme was attended by a host of dignitaries that included Chairman NHHDC Dr. Nicky Kire, Chairman NIDC & Nagaland Hotel co-operation Dr. Nuklutoshi, Commissioner & Secretary Nagaland Youth Resources & Sports K.T. Sukhalu and a huge crowd of music enthusiasts.
