Kohima,9 July: The monthly DPDB meeting for Zunheboto district was held on 9th July 2008 at DC’s conference hall under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman, C.M. Tsanglao.
After reviewing the minutes of the last DPDB meeting, new agenda were floated for discussion. Upgradation of Government Primary School New Colony Zunheboto to class VIII was forwarded for necessary action. Approval and recommendation for upgradation of SHC and reconstruction of office building of Medical Officer at Asuto was tabled for discussion to which the Medical Superintendent expressed that the department wanted to make it functional.
Improvement and widening of Aghunato-Asuto-Yehemi-Longkim road, protection and maintenance of drainage between old town and Khuwaboto colony from public playground and financial assistance for plantation of trees could not be taken up for discussion for want of enough technical estimates of the schemes and projects.
Earlier, an NGO known as Pradham which was doing Annual Survey of Educational Report (ASER) for Nagaland state presented an overall picture of Zunheboto district in the meeting. The DC assured the group that necessary streamlining of the department will be done in right earnest to ensure quality education. He also thanked the group for putting the picture to light and seek cooperation for furthering of their good service.
The DC further impressed on the concerned departments which were communitised to be more serious about their activities and programmes in the rural areas. He requested the officers to visit the villages at least twice a month to take stock of the communitisation programme.
