10 Dec : The Department of P&AR which is the nodal department for pension management has stated in an office memorandum that all pending pension cases are to be disposed off at an earliest and the payment of pension shall be paid to the retiring government employees on the day of superannuation.
In order to expedite disposal of pension cases all heads of departments and administrative heads are directed to initiate the following measures as follows:
1. All heads of officers under their control to compile all pension cases on or before 20th December 2008. If no pension case is found pending each heads of officers is to certify no pending case. On completion of all such pending cases or no pending certificate the heads of department are to submit to the department of P&AR through their respective administrative heads.
2. HoDs to compile under the following categories:
i) Pending cases heads of officers (DDOs) wise.
ii) Pending cases in the Directorate office.
iii) Cases submitted to AG but pending for want of clarification.
3. The office of the AG agreed to organized special pension disposal day (Adalat) in each month on 15th day. If happens to be on a holiday it will organized the next working day.
The first pension Adalat is fixed on 15th December 2008 at 10 a.m. at the office of DGP for disposal of cases relating to Director General of Police (DGP) office.
4. Delay in disposal of pension cases shall be responsible to heads of offices, HoD or any other officers and staff for recovery of penal interest as laid down in the pension Rules.
All AhoDs and HoDs are requested to give top priority to pension cases and to ensure that all pending cases are disposed off expeditiously.
