Kohima,8 July:The monthly meeting of the Dimapur District Planning & Development Board for the month of July was held on 7th July 08’ in the conference DC’s Conference Hall. The meeting was chaired by MLA K. Hollohon.
After the Board reviewed the last meeting minutes the Executive engineer, Roads and Bridges (PWD) gave a power point presentation on their department’s activities. DEO, Dimapur submitted agenda on opening of three (3) new school, up-gradation of nine (9) schools and twenty (21) schools for Grant in Aid. The Board after thorough discussion recommended for the proposals for approval to the Government.
MLA from Ghaspani-II A/C, K. Hollohon also submitted proposals for up-gradation of Kuhuboto High School to Higher Secondary School, Nito (Nikhekhu) Middle school to High School, Creation of SDAO (Agri) post at Medzephima, Repair and Renovation of EAC office at Nihokhu, Construction of Agri Link Road at Nikhekhu Village to Khehoi to Toshiho Village to Ghokuto Village, Construction of Rural Primary Market at Lotovi Village and Construction of Agri- Link road at Zuikhu Village to Khaibung to Hekheshe Village. The Board discussed the agenda and recommended the same to the Government for further necessary action.
The officials of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan presented a power point on Survey of Education report on household survey in Nagaland under Prathan which encourages school children in the age group between 3-16 years to enroll in schools run by the Government especially in the rural areas.
On queries from MLA K.L. Chishi about the distribution of Ration Card Holders and Fair Price Shop, the officials from food and civil supply said that altogether the department has issued eleven thousand eight hundred thirty eight Ration cards for Dimapur district way back in 2001 and further increment is still awaited for approval from the Central Government. the responsibility of distribution of Ration Cards and running of fair price shops have been given the to the village chairman and GB’s in their particular village and colonies, the officer disclosed, however, he admitted that the running of fair price shops and distribution of ration cards is not satisfactory. Chishi further requested the department to furnish the details about the matter in the next meeting.
The DC selected EE Power, DAO and PD, DRDA to give power point presentations on their department’s activities in the next meeting.
