Kohima,12 June:In exercise of the powers conferred by Articles 237 of the Constitution, the state government has directed that the provisions of Articles 233, 234, 235 and 236 shall apply in relation to the Judicial Officers of the State appointed as Deputy Commissioner (Judicial), Additional Deputy Commissioner (Judicial), Judicial Magistrate First Class and Judicial Magistrate Second Class with immediate effect.
This was stated in a notification issued by state Chief Secretary Lalhuma on 17th April 2008. The notification further stated that these Judicial Officers be placed under the Administrative control of the Gauhati High Court (High Court of Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh)
