2 Sep :The inaugural function of Community Care Centre (CCC) at Impur Christian Hospital (ICH) Mokokchung was held on 1st September 2008 with Dr. Akok, Chief Medical Officer Mokokchung as the Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasized on accountability and transparency to make the project achieve its purpose. He also urged the staffs and the community members to take it as a challenge to see that the project achieves its objectives.Earlier, Rev. O. Alem, Executive Secretary, ABAM & Chairman, CCC, Temsuwati President, ABAM and Dr. Akaba, Chairman, Administrative Committee, Impur Christain Hospital also spoke on the occasion. The programme was chaired by Imchawati, Care & Support, while the invocation and benediction was pronounced by Rev. R. Teka Pastor, Impur and Rev. L. Pona respectively.
The programme was attended by officials from department of Health & Family Welfare, government officials and representatives from local churches and NGOs. It may be mentioned that since 2006 ABAM has launched Care & Counseling services by constituting Care & Counseling Board in all churches under ABAM to strengthen community Care & Support services to the people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHAs). The NSACS under NACP-2 awarded the Community Care & Support project to the Impur Christian Hospital, run by the ABAM. The CCC was set up with the intention to function as a bridge between Hospital and home care. Through this undertaking ABAM expects positive results in controlling HIV/AIDS problems in Nagaland.
