15 Dec : Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio inaugurated the newly created EAC headquarter at Botsa on 15th December 2008. In his inaugural speech he appreciated the co-operation of his elected colleagues for all round development of the state.
He also highlighted the historical background of Botsa and said that the EAC headquarter is long cherished dream of the people as it borders Tseminyu, Wokha, Pughoboto and Niuland. He said that Botsa is a gateway to many districts in the state. He also said that the administration and the police perform very crucial functions in development. He also said that freedom is not free without law.
Home Minister, Imkong L. Imchen also speaking on the occasion, said that law and order has improved in the state, adding that Naga people are peace loving. He also said that respect cannot be imposed to get respect but we have to respect each other.
The highlights of the function were presentation of special songs by Botsa BKK and Gariphema CYE. Short speech was delivered by President NAPO, President Northern Angami ‘D’ group Elders Association. Invocation prayer was pronounced by Rüdilhou, Pastor, Botsa Baptist Church while vote of thanks was delivered by Phrenyümo, Chairman, Botsa Area Organisation. Cultural entertainment was presented by Tuophema cultural troupe.
The programme was chaired by ADC, Chiephobozou, Rovilatuo Mor while welcome address was delivered by Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Sachopra Vero. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Ministers, Parliamentary Secretaries, DGP and several other dignitaries.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated Rural Police Station at Chiephobozou. DGP Nagaland, J. Changkija, IPS gave a brief profile of the police station at Chiephobozou. L. Singsit, IPS, DIG (Range), Kohima chaired the programme. Welcome address was given by ADC Chiephobozou, while a special number was presented by Women Society, DIET Colony. Invocation prayer was pronounced by Pastor, Chiephobozou Baptist Church.
