23 Oct :The three-day Public Information Campaign on Bharat Nirman, organized by Press Information Bureau was inaugurated by Chairman, Kyong Hoho, Nyanbemo Ngullie as the Chief Guest at Don Bosco School Conference Hall on 23rd October 2008 at Wokha.
Addressing the public the chairman urged the people to co-operate with the developmental agencies meant for the rural people. He lauded the effort of Press Information Bureau, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting for organizing such campaign to create public awareness about the various schemes reaching the rural sectors. He also called upon the people to support the government in implementation of such rural upliftment schemes in the districts.
The DC Wokha, Project Director, DRDA, Commandant 41 AR, Chairman Wokha Town Council and President GBs Association Wokha, spoke on the occasion. Highlights of the programme included performance by Songs & Drama Division and presentation of folk songs by Longsa Cultural Club and lighting of lamp by Chairman WTC, DC, Commandant 41 AR, Chairman Kyong Hoho declaring opening of the campaign.
Earlier, Chairman WTC inaugurated the photo exhibition on Bharat Nirman put up by DAVP, Kohima. The function was chaired by CDPO, Yihamo Patton and vote of thanks was proposed by Assistant Director, DAVP, Kohima, N. Dolly.
