Kohima 20 June:The programme for Block Level Awareness Camp on Control of Economically Important Diseases of livestock and poultry with special reference to Bird Flu/Avian Influenza was held at Town Hall, Jalukie on 19th June 2008.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Rokozo Dolie, VAS (G) Peren and brief introduction of the awareness camp was delivered by Dr. M.T Lotha, DVO, Peren. Short speeches were delivered by Chairperson, Jalukie Town Council, Gaubeu, Farm Manager SPBF Jalukie, Dr. Namsui, on the Topic ‘Economically important livestock Disease with special reference to Peren District, their prevention and control’. Dr. Keduovizo FDO Jalukie spoke on the topic ‘Impact of Bird flu/avian influenza on the rural economy, its implication on human health, life and what the mass should know about the diseases’, while Dr. Aotoshi, FDO Jalukie spoke on the topic ‘Economically important poultry disease with special reference to Peren District, how to prevent and control’.
Vote of thanks was pronounced by Dr. M.T. Lotha, DVO Peren. Altogether 110 people attended the awareness camp including village council chairmen, party leaders, catechists, women leaders from different churches, student union bodies of Jalukie block, representatives of NGOs, public leaders and Jalukie Town Council members.
