25 Nov : The Angangba Village Guard celebrated its Golden Jubilee on 22nd November 2008 with MLA, Konngam Konyak as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion the chief guest called upon the people to usher in a golden age of excellence.
As a mark of the occasion, he gave away Ashok Chakra–II to Dobashi-cum-Area Post Commander Late Mükhimong, Governor’s Commendation award to Late Subedar Major Z. Ongto and M. Thsikumkyu and Commissioner Award to C. Threnso for their distinguished services. Recalling the history of heroic deeds done by the predecessors, he exhorted the Angangba VGs to strive harder and march ahead for higher excellence. He said that the service of the Village Guards has become indispensable in our society and as such suggested creation of a separate Directorate for administering the village guards.
Comparing the Naga society with Israel history, he said all the evils prevailing in our society are due to forsaking God’s commandments. He said that it is high time to realize our past mistakes and march ahead for a better society. Exhortations were delivered by ADC Longkhim, Y. Y. Sangtam, Commandant VG Tuensang, Rev. James T. Sangtam, Special Head DB, Longkhim, M. Khumpise and Head GB of Angangba village, Hothrongba. Other highlights of the occasion were special number by Blooming Voice Band, parade contingents led by Band Platoon, 3rd NAP Tuensang and cultural troupes from different villages.
