11 Sep : The second session of 11th Nagaland Legislative Assembly concluded today with the Speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly adjourning the session sine-die. Earlier, the session began with starred questions and reply making the house more interactive.
Parliamentary Secretary for Law & Justice, Tourism and Art & Culture, Yitachu in response to a starred query from MLA K.L. Chishi stated that Transfer of Property Act of India has been made applicable only to Dimapur Municipality/Dimapur Mouza area under clause (f) of section 58 of the Transfer of property act 1882 (Act No. 4 of 1882), however the act is not applicable to the rest of Nagaland.
To another query from MLA H. Chuba, Yitachu stated that in the year 2008, till now 15,219 Domestic Tourist and 548 Foreign Tourist have visited Nagaland. He also hoped that more tourist would visit Nagaland by the year end. On development of Dzükou valley he said that improvement of trekking route and public toilet facility, upgradation of accommodation facility and also a helipad is proposed and planned.
Minister for Urban Development, Dr. Shurhozelie in response to MLA Chuba said that under Kohima Municipal Council, 63 regular employees and 82 people on fixed pay were employed. He also clarified that some members of KMC are nominated on the basis of special knowledge or experiences as per section 9 (4) of the Nagaland Municipal Act, 2001.
In reply to another query by MLA, Deo Nukhu, Dr. Shurhozelie said that the Urban Development Department have implemented schemes under CSS where 10% lump sum is under provision for NE states including Sikkim and a total of Rs. 873.35 lakhs have been received during 2007-08. Under JNNURM scheme Rs. 2931 lakhs was sanctioned to the state and at present, works are going on at Kohima, he stated.
Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio in reply to MLA Tokheho stated that essential commodities for the state are being lifted from FCI Dimapur. Details of monthly allotted quantities alongwith the list of carriage contactors and amount paid to them were also furnished.
To another query by MLA, H. Chuba the Chief Minister said that there are 12 VGs post under 51 Noksen A/C. Due to exigencies of the situation Assistant Commandant of VG Noksen, Sub-Division have been temporarily attached to Meluri Sub-Division.
