Mar 15 : In Meghalaya the crucial Assembly session which begins tomorrow will decide the fate of the beleaguered ruling NCP-led Meghalaya Progressive Alliance.Governor R.S.Mooshahary will address the inaugural session. The ruling alliance has been asked to prove its majority on the floor of the house on Tuesday. Chief Minister Donkupar Roy has, however, expressed confidence that the ruling alliance would survive the floor test. He said, negotiations are moving positively.
On the other hand, the Congress also claimed that the MPA would collapse on Tuesday. In the 60-member house, resently both the ruling MPA and the Opposition have 30 members each. In the MPA, the NCP has 15,the United Democratic Party has 10,HSDP -2, Independent -2 , and the BJP -1. While the opposition led by the Congress has the support of its 26 members, three independents and one member of regional party , the KHNAM .
