Mumbai : Malad based social service organisation “Gandhi Vichar Manch” has begin its cleaning mission from the dirt near railway bridge at Malad( West) Railway premises. The President of the organisation Manmohan Gupta says that the new venture is called “Hum Swatch, Mumbai Swatch.” “Modi ji is giving wings to the Gandhiji’s idea of clean India. We should also lend hand, so we have started the initiative. If we keep ourselves clean, then Mumbai will be clean,” he said.
There is a Sulabh Sauchalaya outside the Railway Station near Bridge at Malad(W), which can be used by 3 people for urinal(mutari) and the gate is so small that even one person cannot go in easily. There is also a lot of dirt and uncleanliness. A lot of people commute from the place, including college students, office goers and shoppers. The place also has shops and footpath business. It causes inconvenience to all. For this purpose, ‘Gandhi’ forum has launched a signature campaign near the “accessible toilet” on December 1, 2014 which is in full swing. Till now more than 4000 people have signed and join hands in order to fight against this problem thus giving a direction to the campaign. Later, this letter will be sent to MP, MLA, Corporator. Manmohan Gupta said, “Its more than 50 years of independence, but still the government has failed so far to deliver a good public infrastructure. Malad’s population reached from hundreds to millions but still the numbers of accessible toilets have not yet increased. So the MP, MLA, Corporators should look into this problem and take some action. If these people’s representatives won’t give any attention to this problem then I and people of my organization will fast.”
The cleaning initiative has begun from this place. “Since population have increased, why Sulabh Shauchalays have not increased? Government cannot even address basic requirements? Why do they fine people if there are no facilities?” says Manmohan Gupta. ‘Gandhi’ forum’s this signature campaign will last 15 days. On this occasion, the Secretary General of Gandhi Vichar Manch Mithalesh Mishra, Mumbai Pradesh Adhyaksha Amarnath Dwivedi, program coordinator Jay Prakash Pandey, Kripa Shankar Dave of Yashobhoomi, K.P.Tiwari of Saurashtra Bharat , Santosh Mishra of C channel , Amarnath Patel, J.
