Mumbai,7 July:Students seeking admissions in junior colleges in Mumbai and suburbs this year would get some relief with Maharashtra govt on Tuesday deciding to implement a 2003 resolution in which 70 per cent seats are reserved for local students.
The decision was taken at a meeting held at Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh’s official residence. It was attended by Education Minister Vasant Purke."Admissions already granted would not be cancelled, as the two cut-off lists are already out," a senior official said.
Junior college admissions next year would also be as per the 2003 resolution, an official said.
All students would get admission to junior college, with the government today announcing an additional 1600 divisions for junior college this year.
