7 June :Maharashtra, Bhayander (west), on the request of Siddhivinayak Marg Residents Association the First Mayor of Mira-Bhayander Mr. Gilbert Mendonca today visited the area to personally check the Civic Problems faced by the Citizens along with the Local Corporator Mr.Prakash Thakur and the Hydraulic Engineer of Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation Mr.Barkund and his Team.Mr.Mendonca was made aware of the persisting Civic Problems faced by the Citizens in the area by the Office Bearers of the Association i.e. The President Mr.Pradeep Bhatia, Vice President Mr.Gajendra Rakvi, Secretary Mr.O.P.Singh, Jt.Secretary Mr.Jayant Gokhle and the Chairman Mr.N.S.Rawat.
After observing the problems personally Mr.Mendonca was aghast and has directed the Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation Officers to look in to the Drainage & water Problems immediately and has assured that he will personally look in to this matter and keep an eye on the progress of work so that it doesn’t fall on a back track again, but has also said to resolve the drainage problems immediately will be a little tough ask for the MBMC aswell, but he will try and get some make shift arrangement done through MBMC so that water Accumulation doesn’t happen in the Vicinity of Siddhivinayak Marg Area this time during Monsoon and after the Monsoons will get a permanent solution to the problems. In regard with Drainage Problems Mr.Barkund has assured to get the Drainage completely cleaned and for the Water Supply problem he said that the water line of Siddhivinayak Marg Area has been recently shifted to a 500 line and he will look into the low water pressure problem and get it rectified immediately. Work is expected to begin from Tuesday as per Mr.Barkund of MBMC as tomorrow being a Holiday the MBMC is closed.
Finally before departing Mr.Mendonca has told the Office Bearers of the Siddhivinayak Marg Residents Association to personally visit him anytime if the problems are not looked in to and if work doesn’t commence by Tuesday. This Visit has brought some hope for the Residents of the Siddhivinayak Marg who were literally ignored by the Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation.
