4 Sep :The district administration in Jalgaon is all set to welcome red-ribbon express, a special train to create awareness about AIDS, that will halt at Jalgaon stationon 7th and 8th September.Talking to newspersons, district administration, Neharu Yuvak Kendra and Zilla Parishad officials on Wednesday said that red-ribbon-express would take a halt at Chalisgaon on 5th-6th September and will arrive in Jalgaon on 7th September.Collector Kunal Kumar said that seven compartment train, that left from 1st December, 2006 from New Delhi to create awareness among the people about HIV + (AIDS), has so far made 9,000 kms journey covering 180 districts.
It has made propoganda in 43,200 villages and will now stop at Jalgaon on 7th and 8th September, he added.First compartment of the train will have an exhibition regarding AIDS.People will be educated about the disease through touch-screen and 3-d model as well, said Kumar.Information about government schemes for those suffering from HIV AIDS will also be available, he added.
A team of 50 staff members of Nehru Yuvak Kendra will visit near by villages in the district to create awareness among people about the disease.They will also stage road-shows to send across the message.
