Bhopal : Clean and pure drinking water of Maa Narmada will now reach every house in Hoshangabad city. This was stated by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan while inaugurating urban drinking water scheme under UIDSSMT scheme at Hoshangabad today. On the occasion inaugurated and laid foundation stones of 29 works costing Rs. 128 crore.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that lack of funds will not be allowed in Hoshangabad’s development. He said that Madhya Pradesh’s growth rate of 11.02 percent is the highest in the country while the national growth rate is 4.4 percent. Agriculture growth rate of the state is 24.99 percent. Had hailstorm not affected crops, our state’s situation would have been even better.
Shri Chouhan said that when he had formed his government, state’s budget was about Rs. 21 thousand crore. It is now Rs. one lakh 17 thousand crore. State government will lay a network of roads in the state and ensure better drinking water arrangements also. He said that every person should take a pledge that every child goes to school in his locality, village and city. He said that his dream is to ensure that children of the state also become IAS and IPS officers. He asked district administration to get admitted in schools on priority, street children who beg to survive, do sweeping in rails and also those children unable to attend schools due to lack of money. Houses should be rented to run hostel for such children. He said that free laptops will be given to students securing over 85 percent marks in higher secondary exam. He informed that now students of general category poor families will also be given scholarships. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that state government has implemented higher education loan guarantee scheme so that students do not face any difficulty in pursuing higher education.
The Chief Minister informed that he had come to the knowledge about proxy candidates appearing in PMT on June 20, 2013. Shri Chouhan said that he himself constituted STF and asked it to catch the guilty. In the state, 3 lakh 58 thousand 490 recruitments were made of which irregularities were found in 228 cases. Action has been taken against the guilty without any discrimination.
Shri Chouhan informed that state is likely to get Rs. 2900 crore crop insurance amount. Of this, 50 percent amount will be given by the state government. The amount will be distributed to farmers soon.
Vidhan Sabha Speaker Dr. Sitasharan Sharma congratulated residents of Hoshangabad city on launch of this scheme. Nagar Palika Chairperson Smt. Maya Naroliya informed about the scheme. She urged to make available adequate funds for the city,.
Appeal to save daughters
The Chief Minister appealed to people to save and educate daughters. Shri Chouhan gave away certificates of merit to meritorious students and cheques to beneficiaries under various schemes. He gave away letter of commendation to Ku. Prayusha Parsai for topping in high school exam in the state with 99 percent marks. The Chief Minister announced Rs. 25 thousand prize to her.
Public Works Minister Shri Sartaj Singh, Revenue Minister Shri Rampal Singh, MP Shri Uday Pratap Singh, MLA Shri Thakurdas Nagwanshi, Zila Panchayat Chairperson Smt. Yojangandha Singh Judeo and other public representatives were present on the occasion.
