The first tribal radio centre of world is coming into operation from Bhabra (Alirajpur). This radio centre being initiated by jointly Vanya and Tribal Welfare Department will broadcast programme in local ‘Bhili’ dialect. The radio centre is being launched at the birth place of martyr Chandrashekhar Azad, Bhabra on July 23, 2011. Bhartiya Janata Party National President Shri Nitin Gadkari will be chief guest of inaugural ceremony. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan will preside over the same. Besides, special guests will be former Union Minister Shri Kantilal Bhuria, MP and BJP State President Shri Prabhat Jha, Tribal and Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah, Minister of State for Tribal and Scheduled Caste Welfare Shri Harishankar Khatik, Minister of State for Public Health, Family Welfare and District Incharge Minister Shri Mahendra Hardia, MLA Alirajpur, Shri Nagar Singh Chouhan and MLA Jobat Smt. Sulochana Rawat.Two hours programmes will be broadcast from radio centre Bhabra and it can be listened to within 20 kilometer sphere. It will be operated by local tribal community in Bhili dialect. The radio will bridge the gap between welfare schemes of government and local people.
Community radio centres are being opened at 10 places including Bhabra by ‘Vanya’ such as Baiga dominated Chada-Dindori, Baihar-Balaghat district, Korku dominated Khalwa-Khanwa, Gond dominated Chicholi-Betul, Bhil dominated Nalchha-Dhar, Bhabra-Alirajpur, Meghnagar-Jhabua, Umari-Guna, Sahariya dominated Sesaipura-Sheopur and Bhariya dominated Bijori-Chhindwara. Radio centres at Sesaipura, Khalwa, Nalchha and Chicholi are ready. Works at remaining centres are in progress.
