Madhya Pradesh Eco-Tourism Development Board has chalked out Tawa-Choorna Boating and Safari Project in the water reservoir and sanctuary situated in Hoshangabad district. Forest Minister Shri Sartaj Singh inaugurated this project in Tawa Dam today. Dedicating a 10-seater ultramodern German boat costing Rs. 16 lakh and two Gypsy vehicles for jungle safari, Shri Singh said that under the package, tourism can enjoy boating and safari for two hours. Tourists will board mini cruise boat from Tawa Resort on the banks of Tawa reservoir and reach Gomchi camp at Choorna under Bori Sanctuary. The tourists will travel through Choorna forest area in Gypsy vehicle and enjoy sight-seeing of wild animals.
Madhya Pradesh Eco-Tourism Board Chief Executive Officer Shri A.K. Bhattacharya informed that 10 tourists can travel in one trip of boat. During the trip, arrangements will be made for snacks and guide for briefing them of nature and wildlife. If tourists want to stay overnight at Choorna, they can make reservation.
It may be mentioned that so far tourists were being provided cruise facility only upto Madai in Tawa reservoir. This cruise has been brought to Madai from Bhopal’s Upper Lake.
