3 Sep :Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath has invited Tata Group head Ratan Tata to set up plant for Rs 1 lakh car Nano in Madhya Pradesh, where he said all political parties would welcome him.
"I have spoken to Ratan Tata on the issue four days ago and have invited him to Madhya Pradesh. I have assured him that all political parties would welcome him," he said in Sagar (Mahdya Pradesh).
While BJP rules Madhya Pradesh, Nath has been representing the Chindwara Lok Sabha constituency for over two decades.Earlier, Nath had said that the Centre was willing to intervene in resolving the Singur land stalemate if so desired by the West Bengal Government.
Heavy Industries Minister Santosh Mohan Dev also maintained the same view.Tata Motors on Tuesday had suspended work at the Singur plant, from where it is scheduled to roll out the world’s smallest car Nano by October, following agitation by Opposition Trinamool Congress.
The company stated that it was exploring alternative venues. DDINEWS
