Bhopal : Public works department minister Shri Nagendra Singh has said that the necessary steps should be taken to supply drinking water in order to deal with water crisis due to scanty rainfall in Satna district. The minister was taking the stock of preparations for drinking water at Nagaud Janpad Panchayat and Nagar Panchayat. On this occasion, MLA Shri Jugul Kishore Bagri, Nagar Panchayat president Sushri Kamaksha Singh, Janpad president Sushri Aruna Vikas Singh, SDM, executive engineer PHE and secretaries, members of Gram Panchayats/ Janpad were present.Public works department minister Shri Singh said that it is duty of all to ensure supply of drinking water during this summer season. The state government is very much aware and ready to extend financial help for this purpose. The minister said that there would be water crisis in next two months. The Gram Panchayats should exploit available water resources carefully. A strategy has been framed out to transport drinking water from private sectors besides making optimum use of available resources. It is for the all Gram Panchayats to keep a close watch on water crisis situation and maintain drinking water in their respective villages.
Shri Nagendra Singh said that riser pipes would be made available in bulk stock in Nagaud. The misuse of water will be checked. He also appealed to the people to use minimum water in handling their routine works in view of water crisis. MLA Shri Jugul Kishore Bagri said that the team of public health engineering department and Gram Panchayats would be working on war footing to provide water. SDO and engineer will remain at Nagaud headquarters on every Tuesday and Wednesday. The Gram Panchayat will prepare proposal as per rule and ensure drinking water supply in the villages. Similarly, the hand pump mechanic will stay at headquarters.
