Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan dedicated first Ayurvedic Eye Hospital of the state here today. This eye hospital has been established jointly by Shridhariyam Ayurvedic Eye Hospital of Kerala and Madhya Pradesh Laghu Vanopaj Sangh. Urban Administration and Development Minister Shri Babulal Gaur, Forest Minister Shri Sartaj Singh and Public Health & Family Welfare Minister Shri Narottam Mishra were guests of honour on the occasion.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan announced that now Ayurved doctors will be posted on the vacant posts of doctors in villages. He said that there is need to promote Ayurvedic system of medicine. Ayurved is a treasure house of ancient knowledge, which helps root out diseases. In Ayurved, herbs and plants are used as medicines, which do not have side effects.Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that preventing daughter coming to the world is the biggest crime. Beti Bachao Abhiyan is being launched with a view to changing people’s mindset about girl child and regarding them equal to son. This is a social mission and people should come forward to cooperate in this connection.
Urban Administration and Development Minister Shri Babulal Gaur said that Ayurved is a knowledge which is connected to basic culture of India, which understands the country’s culture and gives it importance too. He said that Narmada water will be supplied to BHEL area first. Forest Minister Shri Sartaj Singh said that this Ayurvedic Eye Hospital is a novel experiment. Madhya Pradesh should also take initiative in medical tourism like Kerala since maximum herbs and medicinal plants are available here.
Rajya Laghu Vanopaj Sangh Chairman Shri Vishwas Sarang said that at present Laghu Vanopaj Sangh is preparing 200 Ayurvedic medicines. There are 31 lakh forest produce collectors under the federation who have been given Rs. 100 crore as bonus by the federation during the last year.
After the dedication, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also inspected the Ayurvedic Eye Hospital. On this occasion, he launched herbal cattle feed prepared by Laghu Vanopaj Sangh. Vice-chairman of Laghu Vanopaj Sangh Shri Mahesh Kori, Directors Shri Ranjit Singh and Amritlal Saket and advisor Shri V.R. Khare were also present on the occasion. The welcome address was delivered by Laghu Vanopaj Sangh’s MD Shri P.K. Shukla.
