Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the State Government is committed to curbing cow slaughter and female foeticide. A stringent law has been enacted in the state which provides for ensuring strict punishment to those found guilty of cow slaughter directly or indirectly. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan was addressing a Pratishtha Mahotsav of Jain community at village Ghasoi in Mandsaur district today.
The Chief Minister said that a cow sanctuary is being established in 983 acre area in Shajapur district. He said that the State Government has decided not to open new liquor shops. Shri Chouhan said that efforts are being made to curb female foeticide by firmly implementing PNDT Act. The Chief Minister also gave information about women’s empowerment schemes and farmer-friendly decisions of the State Government.
Jain saint Shri Harsh Sagar Maharat lauded the State Government’s efforts for curbing cow slaughter and female foeticide as well towards de-addiction. He also lauded Chief Minister Shri Chouhan’s efforts for restoring the idols dug out some years ago at Anand Dham Ghasoi to the Jain community. He also praised Public Relations Minister Shri Laxmikant Sharma and former minister Shri Himmat Kothari in this connection.
Finance Minister Shri Raghavji, Incharge Minister Shri Paras Chandra Jain, Madhya Pradesh State Planning Commission Vice-Chairman Shri Babulal Jain, Rajya Sabha member Shri Meghraj Jain, former minister Shri Himmat Kothari, MLAs Sarvashri Om Prakash Sakhlecha, Radheshyam Patidar, District Cooperative Bank Chairman Shri Rajendra Surana, Shri Dashrath Singh Dhariyakheri, Shri Madanlal Rathore and other people’s representatives were also present on the occasion.
