Madhya Pradesh is going to take a lead in the country to have brought all social security schemes under one umbrella. Social security schemes will now be implemented under an integrated social security programme, which will become operative from first of April, 2012. The Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan informed this while addressing the commissioners’ and collectors’ conference here today.
The Chief Minister said that all schemes aiming at social protection and security would be rationalized and integrated into a composite programme in order to maximize their impact. He said that integrated social security programme would make effective the service delivery system.Shri Chouhan informed that benefits worth over Rs. one thousand crore have gone to over 30 lakh beneficiaries through Antyodaya Melas last year. This year, Antyodaya Melas would be organized in every block from September 25, 2011. The district administration would reach out to the needy families and prepare cases.
Referring to the ongoing Sparsh campaign, Shri Chouhan asked the collectors to identify the disabled persons who have been left somehow and schedule district camps in their respective districts. He said that the pension to deserving disabled persons should reach them by fifth day of every month. He said that registration of daily wage workers should be intensified and the beneficiaries under Mukhya Mantri Kanyadan Yojana must get benefits without any hurdle.
The Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development Shri Gopal Bhargava asked the collectors to update the list of social security pension beneficiaries, saying that sanction for allocation for the social security pension is being accorded within 24 hours.
Minister for Urban Administration Shri Babulal Gaur, Minister for Animal Husbandry Shri Ajay Vishnoi and Chief Secretary Shri Avani Vaish also gave their suggestions. It was informed that Hoshangabad, Betul and Ujjain have performed well in social security programme implementation. Additional Chief Secretary Shri R. Parshuram , principal secretary Smt. Aruna Sharma gave presentation on integrated social security programme.
