Bhopal : Problems of senior citizens are of social nature. Therefore, they will have to be solved unitedly by society and government. This was stated by Chairman of Madhya Pradesh State Senior Citizens Welfare Commission Shri B.G. Dharmadhikari at a meeting of coordination officers here today. The meeting was informed that separate wards will be constructed for senior citizens in hospitals.
Shri Dharmadhikari said that all departments should chalk out welfare schemes for senior citizens. He said that cooperation of retired officers and employees can also be sought for this. Shri Dharmadhikari said that apart from arranging separate lines for senior citizens, separate wards should also be constructed for senior citizens in hospitals. Coordination officer of Health and Family Welfare informed that separate wards are being constructed for senior citizens in hospitals. The Home Department is starting victim help centres for senior citizens. The centres will make arrangements for transport to and from court for victimized senior citizens.
Shri Dharmadhikari reviewed department-wise welfare schemes for senior citizens. He said that senior citizens should be advised to prepare their will. Quick action should be taken in cases under Maintenance Act.
