As many as one lakh 41 thousand 257 children of deprived and weaker sections have been given free admissions to the private schools against 25 percent reserved seats under the Right of Children To Free and Compulsory Education Act. The children of deprived community were to be admitted to first standard.
The District Education Officers have been instructed to ensure the admission of children on ‘first come first take’ basis against the vacant seats in private schools. Under the Act, some private schools have given admission to the children more than fixed 25 percent seats. Some districts of the State have also met 100 percent implementation of the Act.
