The Cabinet sub-committee constituted by the State Government with the aim of strengthening public distribution system (PDS) held discussions on various aspects of reforms at its last meeting here today.
The sub-committee formed under the chairmanship of Water Resources Minister Shri Jayant Malaiya held today second meeting in a week. The committee gave final shape to its report. The sub-committee members Industries Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, Cooperative Minister Shri Gaurishankar Bisen, Minister of State for Food and Civil Supplies Shri Paras Jain and Minister of State for Tribal and Scheduled Castes Welfare Shri Harishankar Khatik were present at the meeting.The points featured in the views of the sub-committee stressed on increasing budget in the fund of public distribution system as per population ratio in the State. Similarly, appointment of a salesman at each fair price shop was discussed. Besides, a proposal for providing a loan of Rs. one lakh for running fair price shop and refunding the loan amount after five years of the sanction in 10 equal installments was also discussed.
The sub-committee also considered direct supply of food-grains to fair price shops from warehouse/godown. In the wake of Vaidhnathan committee’s report, the discussions were held on increasing compensatory amount to cooperative societies and opening of fair price shop at each Gram Panchayat in the State.
AS A MATTER OF FACT THERE IS NO NEED OF PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM, UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS, IN A FREE COUNTRY.
MAKE THE THINGS OPENLY AVAILABLE AT A REASONABLE FIXED PRICE PRICE WITH STRICT LAW THAT ADULTERATION & CHARGING OVER PRICES SHALL BE TREATED AS MOST SINISTER CRIME & THE PUNISHMENT SHALL BE DEATH PENALTY WITHIN ONE MONTH OF IT’S REPORT.
THE ABOVE SYSTEM SHALL BE SAVING TONNES OF FUNDS OF PUBLIC EXCHEQUER APART GIVING RELIEF TO THE PUBLIC IN GENERAL WHO HAS TO WAIT FOR HOURS TO GET THEIR RATION ETC. ETC. AT DEPOTS, SOMETIMES IN THE SCORCHING SUN & DRENCHING RAINS–dr.amritgaur
