Home Minister Shri Umashankar Gupta took a meeting of police officers at Guna today. He asked them to hold meeting at the police station-level in every two months with local people’s representatives, social workers and prominent citizens. He also instructed them to initiate suitable action on suggestions made at these meetings.
Shri Gupta said that SDOP and Sub-Divisional Magistrate should also take part in these meetings. He said that strict action should be taken against criminals. The Home Minister instructed to construct a community hall at Guna.
The Home Minister said that police officers should undertake regular visit to their respective jurisdiction. He said that the police personnel should do physical exercise to keep themselves fit and energetic.
Minister of State for General Administration Shri Kanhaiyalal Agrawal exhorted police personnel to change their negative thinking so that complainant do not return from police stations in a dejected mood. He said that such arrangements should be made that the common man gets justice.
Inspector General of Police and other officers attended the meeting.
