Transport Minister Shri Bhupendra Singh has said that intensive campaign will be undertaken for checking passenger and school buses. During the period, strict action will be taken against concerning officers if buses are found overloaded. Shri Singh was addressing a review meeting of Transport Department at Academy of Administration here today. He said that school buses must be run as per guidelines of Supreme Court. No negligence or influence about this will be tolerated. Transport officers must issue permits for passenger buses after inspecting route themselves and as per requirement so that situation of overloading does not crop up.
Transport Minister Shri Singh asked the officers that departmental activities will be reviewed every month. He said that a control room will be set up in Bhopal soon, which will review targets given to flying squads.
The Transport Minister directed that permits should be issued within time-lime and at the earliest. Monthly reports must be submitted. He said that all transport officers must prepare proposals for minimum 4 non-stop buses in their respective areas through personal efforts.
Principal Secretary Transport Shri Pramod Agrawal informed about auction process of web-based vehicle numbers under new transport policy, motor vehicle taxation and rural transport. Commissioner Transport Shri Sanjay Choudhary was also present.
