Bhopal : New & Renewable Energy Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla has said that private sector is being promoted in the state for increasing power generation capacity through unconventional energy sources. He said that this sector is witnessing historic progress in the state due to attractive policy. As a result of it, 3261 MW wind power will be generated in the state by year 2017 and Madhya Pradesh will be known as the best state in the country in wind energy generation. He said that state government will extend every possible assistance to those investors who are investing in wind energy sector in Madhya Pradesh.
Shri Shukla was addressing a session “MP The Imaging Wind Power Hub of the Nation†during Global Investors Summit at Indore today. On the occasion, project letters of commitment were singed for 107 MW wind energy. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa also participated in the session and sought information about investments and boosted morale of investors.
Minister Shri Shukla said that Madhya Pradesh has carved out a distinct identity in the country and Asia in renewable sector during previous years. He said that Madhya Pradesh has conducive atmosphere for wind power generation. Shri Shukla informed that largest wind power plant in the country is operating in Dewas near Indore. Shri Shukla informed that projects of 5,500 MW capacity have come to Madhya Pradesh after implementing Wind Power Energy Policy-2012.
Additional Chief Secretary New & Renewable Energy Shri S.R. Mohanthy informed about departmental achievements and activities. He said that investors have evinced interest in Madhya Pradesh after its inclusion in green corridor. He said that World Bank and Asian Development Bank are ready to assist in wind energy projects.
Union Joint Secretary Shri Alok Shrivastava, MD of Renewable Power Shri Sumant Sinha, MD of Ganesh Power Shri Ramesh Kemal and MD of Regen Power Shri Gautam Chopra informed about works being done in wind energy sector. Shri Kemal informed that his company is going to invest Rs. 1000 crore in the state. He also informed about merits of Madhya Pradesh. Shri Kemal informed that his company is establishing a unit manufacturing blades used in generating wind energy. Speakers informed that projects of 175 MW wind energy are operating at present in Ratlam and Mandsaur.
