Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that not even a single new shop of liquor will be opened in Madhya Pradesh. Shri Singh was addressing today convention of Kaul Community at Shahdol. He said that for all-round development of Kaul community the state government has constituted Kaul Development Agency through which programmes for economic and educational development of the society will be taken up. He also said that no Adivasi will be driven out of his place and if needed, patta will be given to him.
The Chief Minister said that liquor destroys the life of man and his family. This also affects development of society and even the country. The efforts of the government would be to discourage people from consuming liquor. Therefore the government has taken the decision that it will not allow to open any new liquor shop. He said that the government is firm in its decision to development of all sections of society who are leading a life of oppressed and are deprived of since ages. Kaul community is also such a backward community and the government’s efforts would be for its all-round development.While mentioning the welfare measures of the government Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the government has initiated several steps in the fields of education and employment. For getting educated every child, the government is giving uniform, bicycle and textbooks free of cost to the students. He said that scholarship is being given to children of workers and labourers also. The Chief Minister said that the Adivasis who have been living in forest areas for ages will not be driven out of their place. He directed the officers to add the name of such persons in the list of people living below poverty line even though they are eligible and are not in the list.
