On one hand new vistas of knowledge and prosperity have opened up by computer-based researches and technology and on the other hand Internet is becoming a cause of degeneration of humanity, culture and society. Indian culture, which could not be affected by even foreign invaders like Alexandar and Babar, is now facing the danger of getting adversely affected due to Internet. The Fun-and-Learn software evolved to save children and young generation from the ill effects of Internet and formation of their character and giving right direction to their educational development which will be useful for everyone. Public Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra expressed these views at the release function of the software developed by CTSPI at Ravindra Bhavan today. The function was presided over by Chairman, MP State Electronics Development Corporation Shri Premshankar Sharma. In his address, Officer on Special Duty of Information Technology Department Shri Anurag Shrivastava said that Internet is a great treasure house of knowledge, but increasing dependability on Internet can pose danger to world’s economic condition. He said that due to Internet, manners and traditions are going to smithereens. Internet has also become a source for stealing intellectual wealth and distorting it. Shri Anurag Shrivastava lauded development of this software with a view to saving children and next generation from ill effects of internet.
Software’s producer Shri Shahji John threw light on the software’s special features. He informed that this is a positive initiate in the direction of checking ill effects of Internet. The software developed after eight years’ efforts informs about the activities made by children on the Internet to their parents through e-mail and SMS. This software is an effective weapon to monitor websites causing moral degradation and prevents them from reaching children.
Speaking on the occasion, psychophysicists Dr. Vinay Mishra and Dr. Sumit Rai and educationist Col. Ashok Jairath informed about the dangers to psychological behaviours of children and youths due to Internet. A demonstration of the software was also made at the function. Principals, teachers and children of various schools and citizens were present on the occasion.
